Thanksgiving Race and Jackson's PERFECT light .000

I gave Jackson's dad my Thanksgiving and he gave me his weekend.  Jackson has been wanting to go to Montgomery Motorsports to race ever since he started racing.  We have several friends that go to the Thanksgiving race and a few that race there normal race days.  It didn't disappoint.  It was a super fun laid back track.  It was a SEJRA race and those races are fun in it self!

It didn't start off to great.  We blew a tire at spaghetti junction.  Thankfully my inlaws followed us down there and were behind us.  Bart and Farrell changed it pretty fast!!

In between time trials and runs the kids had a ball playing.

Jackson got a PERFECT light while there!  He lost the round itself, but we were super proud of the .000 light.  His first one ever!  Thank God for buy backs cause he was actually able to win a few rounds each night! 

Stephen wanted to display he was proud of his Skelton racin shirt so he wore it with the Skelton on the front!!

After the race Saturday Bart took all the weight out of his car.  Since Jackson is now 10 he is able to run his car 8.90 instead of the 12.90.  He took all the weight out and he only went like 11.40???  The wind and weather plays so much in this racing that is was soooo slow.

Stephen had been SOOOO sick from the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and this was Saturday night.  His fever finally broke sometime in the night and he had a nasty fever blister.

No longer my baby

One of Stephen's favorite books right now is Love You Forever.  We read it a lot at night and I love the part that says I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.  I always tell both of my boys they will always be my babies.  No matter how big or how old they are they will always and for ever be my babies.  

Since I feed Grace breakfast in the mornings and she is about to start lunch I had to pull out the old high chair.  We kept it in Pam and Farrell's basement and when we got it back Stephen new exactly whos it use to be.  Stephen and Matt shared it for quite some time!

Of Course he had to climb in it one Sunday morning, but was not happy about having his picture taken in it!!  Can't believe how big he is.  I officially have no more babies of my own!  

So no matter how big or old Stephen or Jackson gets they will always be mommy's baby.  Even if they can't fit in their high chair. :(

Wednesday - Halloween

So I am loving that our team made it to one play off game.  Sadly we won, but happy to be done and moving on to better and bigger things.  (for both boys)  

It was a hard game but Jackson did really good!

Since we lost we and we are done we are having our end of season party Saturday.  I am loving I get to see some of my friends then!!

I am loving this little boy!  I LOVE that he has such an amazing imagination!!

I am loving that today is Halloween and we get to go to Church for our yearly Harvest Party!!

I am loving this sweet little boy and the sweet little girl!!!

I LOVE that we bought Jackson a new riding suit for his bday!  Now he can get out there and get as dirty as he wants and not ruin his clothes underneath!!!

I am LOVING I got to spend the day with Stephen at school!!  I also stayed a few minutes longer this morning cause he didn't want me to go.  So I stayed for a few minutes and then he was fine!!  I can't wait to tell you all about our day at school in a different post!!

I love this little turkey!!  Isn't Grace the cutest!!!  Stephen wore this when he was 9 months old and it makes me miss my baby!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Today I am loving the smiling faces of my boys!  They are smiling because I made them peanut butter milkshakes!
I am loving Mountain Fresh Creamery in Clermont.  Thats the ONLY milk Stephen can drink.
I am loving that he LOVES the milk.  He takes it to school each morning and on Monday he told his whole table he had special milk.
I am LOVING he can finally have milk since its his favorite drink!!

I am loving Jackson's personality!  He can always make you smile!(even when you should totally get on to him)  He is just hilarious!!
I am loving that I we have been at home the past 2 nights.  It flooded the football practice fields so we have been home!
I am loving he doesn't have homework all week.  Testing so they don't have any!!!
I am loving he gets up every morning to tell me X amount of days till his bday!

I am loving are night time rituals.  

Jackson watches TV while I read Stephen books.  Stephen doesn't watch much tv and doesn't have a tv in his room.  Jackson gets a few minutes while I read to Stephen.  I did the same for Jackson, but now with football he likes his down TV time before prayers and bed!  Stephen started with one book, then wanted 2 and its slowly became 5!!  I love it though.  Most of the books pictured above are Jackson's from when he was little.  The only one that isn't is HOGWASH!  Its a new book.  I am LOVING it.  Its by our favorite children's book author Karma Wilson.
I am LOVING The Prayer of Jabez book.  The discussions we have after reading it might have to be a post all on its on!!   I am LOVING how Stephen displays them after reading them, then has to count them!

I am LOVING Stephen's night light.  My mom gave it to him for Christmas.  After reading books we have to turn on the light.  After we turn on the light we go to Jackson's room to say prayers.  I am LOVING that both my boys want to pray and pray with such a loving heart to the lord.  After prayers I love that we go back to Stephens room say good night to his fish and he gets in bed by himself.  I am LOVING that he falls asleep by himself and in his bed.  He might come out a few times before he falls asleep and he might come to our bed during the night, but I am LOVING that he starts the night off by himself in his bed!  

I LOVE the fact that Jackson likes to sleep backwards.  I really have no idea why, but when I walk past his room or cover him up or give that one last kiss before I go to bed I have to stop and smile and usually say he's crazy!  I love it!

God is good!!

My dream vs. his 9 year old dream

Jackson pretty much loves Drag Racing.  Thats about all he thinks about is my next race, next time I race, blah blah blah!  Ever since he started racing he hasn't been able to get enough.  Last year he did really well.  He came in 7th place out of about 30 kids.  He runnered up at the Night of Fire and came home with 3 qualifier shoot out trophies.  He also came in 3rd place in Greer and brought home $100!  This year he has came home with 1 qualifier trophy, 1 runner up trophy and 1 semi finalist trophy.  

Last year he would bring home his papers and I would look through them and notice several about drag racing.  Well this year is no different.  He is constantly thinking about drag racing and any opportunity he gets while at school he is drawing or writing about it.  

His dream is to get a sponsor and make it big in drag racing history!  I have always had a dream or a vision for my children.  I always dream about the day they will get saved.  They day they walk down the isle, not to get married, but to take that step to the alter to be saved.  I have never cared if they go to UGA or North Ga Technical School.  I don't care if they will be a doctor or lawyer or garbage truck driver.  As long as they are saved I don't care what they do for schooling or career.  OF COURSE I want them to be successful, but I know if they have God in their life they will be successful.  

So anyways Jackson's dream is to be a famous drag racer!  You ask how I know???  Well by the stories he writes, the drawings he draws and by the things he makes.  

For instance he wrote about his dragster in his "Too Good for Drugs" workbook.
It says "I am proud that I can drive my dragsters.  I am not scared."
"Today Jackson reached a lifetime goal.  The goal was to drive my dragster.  The steps Jackson took to reach the goal were Step 1: to get a good light, Step 2 Concentrate, Step 3 good sportsmanship.  Jackson celebrated reaching this goal by: I got a trophy."  Obviously if you enlarge the picture you will see several spelling mistakes, but I wrote out the right spelling so you would understand it better!

This picture might have been drew in second grade.  When we first bought his car it was black.  And I think he drew it then.  If not then he couldn't find a burgundy crayon ;)  I love the smoke and all!!! 

This one was actually 3rd grade.  He wrote a story about how to make a dragster!
"First you get a lot of metal.  Then you melt all the together.  Get seat belts, glove, helmet and shoes.  Then get spray paint and the body coler (color) it what ever you want.  And get tires and a morder (motor)."

This he made during the summer out of molding clay.  I really think it looks alot like a dragster!

This is on his door.  He got the stickers at the Southern Nationals and stuck it on his door along with 5 or 6 more.  He took his bendaroos and made his name, is and an arrow pointing down to the dragster!
